Together with my good friend Sebastian Bumann I made a road trip through Thailand for one month back in 2010. I've never had so much fun on a trip as I did in Thailand. The first week we met up with some German friends and drove from Hua Hin to Phuket. On the way we kited on some amazing spots. In Phuket we planned to sail around Indonesia and kite anywhere we could.
Unfortunately the wind was really disappointing on the West coast of Thailand. We stayed in Phuket for a week. We went wakeboarding and did some sightseeing. After 3 days we got the catamaran in the water and sailed to Ko Phi Phi. We stayed there for one night. All the legends are true. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The parties are insane, the vibes are amazing, and the scenery is just mind-blowing.
After enjoying some culture on the west coast we decided to head back to Hua Hin. Here we had some solid kitesurfing conditions. We were able to kite almost every day which definitely made up for the time we lost in Phuket.
Thailand has one of the greatest cultures in the word. Almost no crime, buddhism, and delicious food. If you avoid the touristic parts you're truly in for the trip of your life!
At the end we had a ton of photos, amazing stories and we cut together an 8 minute video called Exeat 2. The video has been viewed over 60,000 times so far.
